We give thanks to God for His faithfulness in sustaining Grace Baptist Church, Portsmouth, for these 23 years. It is a privilege to have Dr. Jonathan Bayes to proclaim the Word of God at our anniversary weekend.
Dr. Jonathan Bayes has served faithfully in Christian ministry for over four decades. He has pastored churches in England, including Stanton Lees Chapel in Derbyshire, and currently serves as the UK Executive Director for Carey Outreach Ministries, where he is instrumental in training pastors worldwide for the work of the gospel. Blessed with a rich academic background, Dr. Bayes holds a Ph.D. from the University of Sunderland, an M.Phil. and M.A. with distinction from the University of Leeds, and a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Bradford. Yet, above all, he is committed to the proclamation of the truth as revealed in Scripture, always seeking to exalt Christ in all his labours. God has also used Dr. Bayes to author several Christ-centered and theologically rich books. Among his works are A Tidy Faith: Systematic Theology from a Reformed Baptist Perspective (2024), The Apostles’ Creed: Truth with Passion (2010), Systematics for God’s Glory, and others. These writings reflect a dedication to grounding doctrine in Scripture while encouraging believers to live for God’s glory. His work exemplifies a heart for God’s truth and a desire to build up His church. May God be glorified as we celebrate His goodness and reflect on His work among us through the ministry of His servant, Dr. Bayes.
