BOOK
1 Thessalonians

Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians 2:9-20

Sermon Points

1. Heartfelt Desire
But since we were torn away from you, brothers, for a short time, in person not in heart, we endeavoured the more eagerly and with great desire to see you face to face, 18 because we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, again and again—but Satan hindered us. (1 Thes. 2:17-18)

2. Hindered By Satan
because we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, again and again—but Satan hindered us. (1 Thes. 2:18)

3. Heavenly Expectations
For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? For you are our glory and joy. (1 Thes. 2:19-20)

4. Hindered, But Not Defeated
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

Satan may well hinder, good things, gospel things, good honouring things, Christ exalting things. But Jesus is Lord and King, His Kingdom is eternal and unstoppable.
